Ecuador HospitalBuilding clinicIrish priest Fr. Eddie Veasey spent over thirty years working with the poor in the shanty town on the outskirts of Guayaquil, Ecuador, helping people living on city trash sites and begging in the streets for survival.

He became so overwhelmed with demands on both his time and his pocket helping these people that he appealed to HUDT “Help Us Dry the Tears” to come to his aid. Ecuador HospitalNurse with baby

We had no hesitation in answering his appeal. He was looking for a medical clinic for the very poor in his parish that had neither the money nor the transport to travel long distances for treatment in a hospital.

We helped Fr. Eddie build a new clinic which eased the trauma and suffering that these people and their children went through every day. A year later we helped him built a new maternity unit to add to this.
